Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) – SME Connect

Since 1940, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), South Africa’s largest development finance institution, has helped to build the industrial capacity that fuels the country’s economic growth by funding viable businesses.

The IDC funds small and medium enterprises with a minimum funding requirement of R1million and a maximum of R1 billion in various sectors mentioned below.

is a strategic collaboration model used to expand and deepen industrial development in the small industrial business segment through leveraging the skills, balance sheets, resources, networks, and influence of all partner entities to develop and grow SMEs.


Programmes


AFD Green Energy Fund - Provides finance for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects of smaller scale, as well as manufacturing of Green Products in South Africa.
Agri-Industrial Fund - Develops competitive, economically viable activities in agro-processing (food and non-food) sectors by developing local and regional resources to supply domestic demand and increase international trade.
SMES AND MIDACP Companies - Assists SMEs and MIDCAP companies to access loan financing for CAPEX, medium and long-term working capital.
Gro-E-Youth Scheme - Encourages youth entrepreneurship and employment creation, thereby expanding South African production capacity.
Khoebo Innovation Promotion Program - Offers capital and business support to SMMEs during the early stages of commercialisation.
Green Tourism Incentive Programme - Encourages privately-owned tourism enterprises to move towards cleaner and renewable energy sources as well as the efficient utilisation of water. Read More
